OCX-F and OCX-F PEEK

Temperature-controlled oedometer cell with integrated temperature and pore pressure measurement; for carrying out frost heave tests

One-dimensional compression tests according to DIN EN ISO 17892-5 and DIN 18135 can be carried out with the OCX-F oedometer cells. With these cells, the temperature of the sample can be varied. Specially tempered liquids are passed through the upper load stamp in order to influence the temperature at the top of the sample.

A temperature sensor and optional a pressure sensor is located on the underside of the oedometer cell. This enables investigations on freezing and frozen samples with simultaneous measurement of the suction tension (pore pressure).

There are two drainage connections on the load stamp (upper side of the sample) and in the base (underside of the sample) for watering and draining the samples.

The high-performance plastic PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) is used in the OCX-F PEEK variant. This semi-crystalline plastic has a unique combination of very good mechanical properties, high temperature resistance and excellent chemical resistance. With the OCX-F PEEK oedometer cells, high mechanical strength, rigidity and creep resistance over a wide temperature range are particularly important.
